Coralife LED BioCube Canopy Replacement Review

This is a good light for my petals and stuffed animals, but it needs some work.1. The controller is on the back, on top of the lantern, and it's impossible to read without standing on a ladder above it. 2. The instructions are not clear enough.3. There should be a flap that opens to access the compartments on the back of the tank.4. It should be possible to add light.5 Shelter. This should allow for another inch of height for better skimmer placement.

Very easy to use - evenly lit. It's very quiet and powerful. The lid is very light and well made. Unfortunately I have an Oceanic Biocube against a Coralife Biocube. It's not a comfortable fit, but it works. The simplicity of the device and the presence of a plug is a bonus. I upgraded my old LED cover and had 5 connectors between channels and fans. I was happy to see a plug and built in timer. It's a bit pricey considering you can buy a new Biocube tank for $100 more.

Lid works well so far. I didn't give 5 stars for several reasons. The fan sometimes makes strange noises. There doesn't seem to be anything I can do to fix the noise. The lights seem to be doing a good job with the corals, but since turning them on I've had a major outbreak of seaweed. Not sure if this is due to the lighting or some other issue but my previous lights were upgraded with Biocubes and I haven't had the same problems with algae. I also don't have SPS corals so I don't know how they

I have had the Biocube for 5 years now. I've struggled with these headlights for at least 2 years, not to mention having to remove the headlight cover every time I worry about dropping screws in my tank. This new dome has reinvigorated my aquarium and interest in the hobby. I can't tell you how great it is to have timer LED lighting. My tank is probably better now than ever. I bought this to replace my existing 29 gallon CoraLife BioCube hood. I was amazed at how easy it was to repeat. It fits perfectly. All I had to do was remove the 3 loops on the back of the hood, unplug 3 different plugs from the extension cord and remove the existing hood. I then connected a power cable to the new range hood and programmed 3 timer settings to simulate natural sunrise and sunset. The hood is smooth and slightly lower than the old hood. I refused to buy a new hood due to the cost of purchase. After shorting out the wiring from my old hood, I finally decided to take the plunge. I really wish I had made this change sooner. The item arrived well packaged and in perfect condition. The lid itself is probably half the weight of the old range hood, much quieter, much cooler and more energy efficient I'm sure.
