Sandwich maker suitable for small household appliances

I already had one of these sandwich makers and my grandkids wanted to use it every time they came so I figured maybe I'd go ahead and buy them one. I would recommend Cuisinart because it never fails and seems to last forever. For the price it's the best.

Pros
  • All right!
Cons
  • Band

Calm down - it's just a sandwich.

If your expectations are reasonable then this is a great toaster. The timing of the indicator lights is accurate. Butter the outside of the sandwich, place inside, close, plug in and when the green light comes on you have a great toasted sandwich. It's not magical self-cleaning, but give me a break - it's $20. Toast sandwich. The cord storage is a big plus for me. Prevents it from getting tangled up with all those other wired gizmos in the closet.

Pros
  • Worth the money
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Cheese falls between plate and plastic; Can not be deleted.

A few years ago I tried the generic $5 version (discounted) and didn't like it because the cheese melted and gushed over the rim of the plate and got caught in the gap between the plastic case and the hot plates . I thought maybe it would be better because of the "updated plate design". It turns out to be a big disappointment with the same problem as the cheap one. The plates aren't big enough, the cheese is bubbling and the plastic is covered in hard-to-remove cheese. Worse, the crack between…

Small poorly decorated junk

Undersized piece of junk. If you're looking to make a small slice of grilled cheese from thin slices of store-bought bread, this might be for you. Add some filling and it overflows. Dirty and difficult to clean. The "non-stick" coating is removed with a sponge for cleaning. The thin plastic broke after the first use. Absolute rubbish.

Not as good as before.

Compared to other products of the same type (and I am not including panini presses) available on Amazon in the US, this product is better than several I have seen and ordered, just to annoy me what was delivered . However, compared to other versions I found through research in the UK and Australia, this product is significantly inferior. It also doesn't compare well to similar versions of the product that were available on Amazon a decade ago. Overall disappointed.

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Damaged

Easy to use for teenagers

I saw this and had to buy it. I remember having one when I was younger (much younger) and I started having flashbacks. So I bought it and my teenage sons have just started using it and they love it. They make interesting sandwiches that I couldn't even think of. And they also use cakes in it. It's very easy to use and we love how the cord just wraps around the arm at the back. This is a great investment if it helps some teenagers who are less likely to walk in and start cooking right away and…
