I installed the CURT trailer wire harness 55382 after watching the youtube video. All connections are fine and work as they should.

Quick installation, works great. The only complaint is that the double sided tape they use to secure the control module isn't strong enough to stay in place.

I say this because I've been working as a mechanic for the past few years, so the installation was very easy for me. But! A less experienced person will not find it difficult. The total time was about 30 minutes (including breaks). Worked the first time by hooking it up to a trailer.

I was looking for a simple kit to add trailer lights to my 2002 Jerp Liberty without splicing the wires. This kit was worth the money. Plug and play, just had to drill a small hole for the ground wire. AMAZON SAYS THIS IS NOT SUITABLE FOR MY CAR! As well as removing the hard to reach rear light screw this is very easy and takes less than 10 minutes. I routed the wire through the inside of the factory clutch tube and pulled it through the clutch tube, which is the trickiest part. There are other ways to do this that may be faster (zip ties) or slower if you remove the molding and pass underneath.

2006 Jeep Liberty. Installation went smoothly, just watched the video on YouTube (although there were plenty of instructions). The only difficulty was getting the wire through the square tube of the hitch. The lines are difficult to push through, so my unorthodox solution was to slip the bar through the other end, hook the line with a small hook, and pull on it until it reached the middle of the hitch. From there it was very easy. A few zip ties later I was ready to tow the trailer.

After successful installation I used it 5 times in total and it no longer works. The right side of the trailer does not work except parking lights. Hooked it up to another car and it works great. After all connections have been checked, there is no power coming from the right side of the coupler connector. Electronic problem? Just a disappointment. I wanted that first. No wire cutting. Disconnect, connect to the power wiring and voila. You are ready to go. I would have given five stars if it weren't for a few things. #1 Why such a big eyelet on the ground wire and such a tiny metal screw to secure it. and could they spend a penny more to use a good quality screw?
