These knee pads have an approx. 3.8 cm wide elastic strap with Velcro. When I wear them with shorts, the strap digs into my knees a bit, but that's nothing compared to the damage done when I'm not wearing them when kneeling on concrete or shingles. Wearing it with pants will likely solve this problem. I have been installing floors for 35 years and use them about the same amount. I've tried replacing them with all the new trending pads that have come and gone, but kept coming back to these. These knee pads have helped me avoid knee injuries over the years. I can't kneel on the floor for more than an hour without them, but with them I can keep going all day, day after day.
