The 3DS XL has benefited greatly from a larger screen than its smaller 3DS counterpart. However, due to its size, I often had cramps or sore hands, especially when playing with button presses. This grip adds some bulk to the console which is important here. It feels great in my hands and takes a lot longer to clench than it takes to hold the console itself. It turned some games that I thought were completely unplayable (action platformers) back into normal games! After playing the SSB4 3DS demo for hours, I had no issues with comfort or trigger pull with this grip. That was the biggest fear I had when buying it. I've heard some people complain about having trouble accessing the shoulder buttons, but this can be remedied by simply wrapping your middle fingers around the lugs attached to the grip itself and placing your index fingers on the L and R.
