The installation disk works. if you don't always follow the instructions.

I recently set up my DIR-645 and wanted to share what I learned during the setup. Many reviewers complained that the installation CD didn't work for them and they had to do a manual install. If you follow the installation disk, you will be taken through a series of steps and one of the first steps will ask you to "unplug" the cable. or DSL modem. It then forces you to plug in cables etc until you get to a step where it asks you to turn on your new wireless router and then attempts to set itself

Lots of bugs and no whole house fix

I bought this router to replace my trusty Buffalo router that had a floor accident and the plastic was cracked. Buffalo's latest routers haven't been seen with good reviews, so I've decided to try something else. This device had a lot of good reviews and I decided to buy it. The product arrived in two days as promised by Revain. Now we come to the assessment. My first impression upon opening the box was that this product is in no way aesthetically pleasing as it is a short, thick, vertical…

It worked fine for 3 days

I had problems at first when it arrived with the CD but the CD when put in my computer and tried to use the CD said it had errors on the CD there . So I tried calling the company and was put off. I wanted to ask for another CD to be sent. I decided after 20 minutes of waiting not to wait for people to talk to me. So I tried using the D-Link manual connection method and I couldn't log into 192.168.0.1. I had to reset D-Link using the reset button. I was then able to access 192.168.0.1. After…

  • Exorbitant price

[EDIT 1/26/2013] Unfortunately I have some issues with this router that are important enough, I've removed them two stars, in fact it is currently bricked up. Some important information I found out afterwards is that there are strange firmware update recommendations for this device. I wouldn't normally recommend updating the firmware, but post-purchase, I found a few items that were important enough to warrant attempting a firmware update. One of the main reasons I bought this was because I…
