I wear 9 1/2 shoes so took a size 10-12. They've been in the dryer for a bit and are very snuggly now. I wish I had XL socks but they will work for now. Update: They shrunk after the second wash and now fit very snugly the first time you put them on. I contacted the company and they told me they were preshrunk so they wouldn't shrink. I found out about these socks on long hikes. Why haven't I heard of these socks before? These are the most comfortable and durable socks I have ever bought and put on. I've traditionally been buying Gold Toe socks for 30 years. I bought 3 pairs of these socks to try, love the feel of them. They hug the foot for a snug fit. After being unable to find any merino wool hiking socks with a non-compression band for diabetics (a SERIOUS gap in the market for sock makers!), I decided to just buy the three most recommended brands (Darn Tough , Smartwool, Farm2feet) and try them all to see if any of them work for me as a diabetic.
