Colors Accurate / Cheaply Made

Colors seem accurate but made cheaper than I thought for the money. Mostly paper/cardboard. You don't get much for the price. Keep it in your studio because if you take it to the field it will break.

Pros
  • Dope 🔥
Cons
  • Not bad but...

Great alternative to more expensive products.

Purchased for use in Davinci Resolve (native support) and as an alternative to a more expensive product. The assembly is good - it appears to be cardboard but the type is of high quality; not cheap. color samples are matte and not glossy; I also had this problem with a more expensive product (color reflections, etc.). The easily achievable results in NLE are excellent. Colors now look amazing in Davinci with just a few clicks (I'm sure it's just as easy in FCP and Premiere).

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

Easy to use in Adobe Lightroom Photoshop workflow, create color correction profiles that can be applied in batch. On the back is an excellent gray card for calibrating a digital camera. Comes with a very useful plastic case to protect from light and dirt. I'm photographing makeup for one of my clients and this has greatly improved the color accuracy for web use. I have to admit that it was a bit confusing the first time, but once you understand the process, it's not hard at all.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • No automatic

Excellent color uniformity, easy to use and transport

This portable card helps ensure the best color consistency for videos and photos. The color chips work great with Davinci Resolve and Lightroom - the back is great for adjusting color balance and showing exposure range in the histogram. In the past I've used everything from white paper to more complex graduated gray cards to set white balance and adjust colors, but no system has been as accurate as this system. When used with a broadcast camera (Sony) and a DSLR (Nikon), the color consistency…

Great alternative to X Rite

I have used the X Rite Passport for desktop items but it is too small for indoor use. I bought this because rite X is 2x bigger so I decided to try that first. I rarely use an interior color chart as everything I photograph is usually modern, white and clean on the inside. However, sometimes I get severely mixed lighting with odd wall colors that need some help beyond my sight and memory. It seems to me that the workflow with it is a bit easier than with rite X, BUT it's trivial. If you're used

Pros
  • Sturdy construction

  • No instructions

Just what I need

Affordable color chart, accurate and easy to use. DaVinci Resolve has a built-in color table that makes it easy to match the colors of two cameras. I immediately fitted a BlackMagicPCC 4k ProRes 422 to a Sony FS5 Custom Cine4. My exposure was a little off and I didn't notice until the color matched. Now I know I need to slightly underexpose Cine4 on Sony when shooting at BMPCC 4k. If you're a photographer or cinematographer and want to get different cameras together quickly, this is the best…

Pros
  • Great for me

  • Very expensive

It's hard to create a loot file

So, I'm a streamer and just wanted to create a loot file to plug into obs. Surprisingly, after about half an hour I can say I'm just disappointed. All this thing wants to do is create what are called "preset" files that you can plug into something like Lightroom. No problem. I have Lightroom. Oh wait, no, I have Lightroom SS, so when I click the create preset button, Spydercheckr can't find the preset folder of my Lightoom cc. More Google searches, oh I don't have a presets folder. More…

Pros
  • Working in hands free mode

  • I don't remember but there was something

Stand out from the crowd

I've had a great time with the SpyderCHECKR 24. I've had my eye on one of these for a long time and after further recommendation from a trusted advisor I decided now is the time. I've tested it in multiple locations (e.g. sporting events, portraits, theatrical performances, the beach, etc.) and have never been disappointed. I thought it might take too long for the layman, but I don't think it is. I don't need to keep all my camera settings the same to get the same individual results (although I

Pros
  • Camera and photo
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

For those of you browsing here who are hesitant (like me) due to some negative reviews, I'd like to offer an additional point of view. 1.) This device is not made out of cheap cardboard. While not a hard hard plastic, it's not brittle "cardboard" and appears to be coated with some kind of plastic or vinyl coating, making it "strong enough" for the task. It comes with a plastic carrying case for travel and storage. There's a small risk of it bending if not handled properly, but if you're careful

Pros
  • Lighting and Studio
Cons
  • Slightly torn
