fits well but vibrates like hell

fits my 02 tj auto trans. However, I didn't think it would vibrate so much. The vibrations go away and you drive, but it's noticeable at a red light. I'll switch to rubber mounts when I get a chance.

  • Pleasant to use

Vibration!: Gearbox and Transmission

When replacing the factory rubber mount with these polypropylene mounts. It will vibrate like crazy! Especially when idling and in 1st gear. It's normal when the jeep is driving. Much tighter shifting and no play in the gearbox as far as I can tell. But it will make you vibrate crazy at idle! So be careful if you want to switch to poly!

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Requires Socket

Polyethylene transmission stay was a good replacement on my 1997 Jeep Wrangler TJ. I've read that some customers have written that they feel transmission vibrations more with polymer mounts than with OEM, but to be honest all I can tell you is that the awful noise/feel of the transmission shaking when I start driving is gone, and I'm a lucky tourist.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Unusable features

Great inexpensive upgrade!

Great value upgrade. I replaced the factory mount which was still in good condition, resulting in a stiffer feel and actually crisper initial acceleration/RPM. Vibration is not a problem, I also have a poly body lift and the vibration is still quite good. I've had a lot of CJs too, so I don't think a TJ is that rude. I've paired this trans mount with MORE torsion bar motor mounts and I think it's a good combo.

Pros
  • Quality workmanship
Cons
  • Great price

Great product and easy install

We found that our old original bracket was removed when replacing the gearbox and transfer case gasket under the jeep. Replacing only the fasteners takes a maximum of 2 hours. The new mount is noticeably stiffer, but that doesn't bother us. The Jeep may "vibrate" a little more (only) when idle, but it comes with this type of mount. It's all personal preference, but we like the new gear mount and airtight seal.

Pros
  • Absolute Legend
Cons
  • Clarity

Rugged as F*** on 03 TJ

1. Gearbox vibration and body play2 are eliminated. Driving and vehicle vibrations are increased! 3.Know the difference between neoprene and rubber mount OEM4. I had to remove the cab and dash covers to put on some foam and rubber to eliminate the rattling noise. Idling is where you can find all the loose parts in your car. First of all, this is a big update. This is a simple replacement that uses the original T-body bolts. Mind you, if you're looking for a rock-solid comfortable (not…
