better than "me " but not as good as I thought

I like: - how it looks; - where the controls are located; - how the water level in the tank is marked; - and programming features / auto shut off What I don't like: - a loud beep after brewing is complete that cannot be turned off, heavy dripping that occurs when the jug is removed regardless of whether the brewing is complete.

Pros
  • fingers crossed
Cons
  • not satisfied

Doesn't make good coffee

I've tried everything I can to make a cup of good, strong coffee, but always get dark water. I use twice the recommended amount of grind per 4 cups of water and the strong setting, but I end up with a sluggish, weak, runny mixture. Adding more grist will only result in more dry grist in the basket. If you like strong coffee, look elsewhere.

Pros
  • Quick switch
Cons
  • Some difficulties

The GFCI switch blew when I plugged it in

When I first plugged in a new coffee maker the GFCI circuit failed. I couldn't reset it without unplugging the device. Then when I plugged it back in, the GFCI circuit didn't work. Is this an omen of trouble to come? I will be using it now but will keep an eye on the 30 day return period to make sure I don't get a Black and Deck Lemon.

Pros
  • Regular price
Cons
  • Minor repairability

Hard to see water level

This coffee maker is disappointing. The water level in the ship is almost invisible. There should be a "window" so you can see it from the outside of the coffee maker. The basket inside lifts the lid when the carafe is put on. It's a bad design, although the coffee comes out pretty good.) Depends on how and what brand of ground coffee you use.) I don't recommend this coffee maker.

Pros
  • Fits many
Cons
  • Hard to tell

Nice coffee pot, does the job But

Coffee pot 3 stars for 2 reasons. 1. The top of the device and the surface under and around the coffee filter holder collect a lot of moisture. This moisture then drips onto the hot part of the machine when you remove the coffee pot to serve coffee. 2. The digital display is not backlit, making it difficult to read the time and selected functions. All in all, this is a coffee pot with some nice features that gets the job done.

Pros
  • I'm holding my fists
Cons
  • So far so good

A real disappointment

While I'm working, hot water is always spilling or dripping somewhere - often on my hand when picking up a pot or pouring coffee. The lever to open the lid is too short and awkward to use. I can't use any "strong" function except with a time delay, but it doesn't matter; I can't tell "normal" from "strong" in any way. The function "1-4" seems superfluous to me. Even when switched on, the coffee machine always brews a full cup. If I only wanted to brew 1 or 2 cups, I would only need to pour that

Pros
  • Handy item
Cons
  • Useless features
