Protects against wet rot aging

Made a 12 x 16 deck and covered all the supports under the deck with this tape. Judging by the video on Tube, it protects against rain and getting wet from standing water. It is easy to apply and covers very well.

Pros
  • Impressive
Cons
  • Some small things

Difficult to stick in cool weather

Adhesive doesn't want to stick in cool (50 degrees Fahrenheit) and wet weather like I had when remodeling my deck. Otherwise easy to use and good value for money. I used a wallpaper seam roller to help it stick to my joists but it was still coming loose.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Functionality

Sticky Stuff fits tape

Used it today and had no problem with it other than cutting it as it was so thick. Holds up well, just make sure the surface is dry and clean. It was enough for the job and a little more since I only needed 70 feet. I would use it again.

I like this top bar band

I love this top bar band, it works great. It's wide enough to cut two joists if you want. It sticks very well. I give it five stars for the quality and they got it here in two days as promised.

Pros
  • One year trial
Cons
  • Problem

Easy to use, great idea

When we redid our deck last summer we kept the old joists which were in excellent condition and decided to use this sealing tape between the Trex and the joist. It was easy to use and I think it keeps moisture out of the old nail holes, but I can't tell for sure without removing the top of the deck!

  • Good cause

  • Reliability

Works well - Duct tape

Great for what I used it for, but doesn't stick well to board edges. It worked great on double boards as it rested well on the joists and sticks and later held in place with the topping. For individual bars, it adheres well to the tops, but the excess does not stick to the sides of the bars when folded. This worked very well for my purposes as the joists I put it on were also part of the roofing system for the space below and there was roofing material between the joists and halfway down theโ€ฆ

Pretty good product.

I am reworking a 22 year old deck and replacing a PT deck with Azek. I bought three rolls of these to fit all the joists. I quickly realized that this would be a very expensive proposition because the deck is so big. I also saw that most beams didn't seem to need help even after 22 years. The only suspects of rot were those that happened to be parallel to the floor covering and thus filled the gaps between the floorboards. Leaves and dirt get into these cracks and stay wet for a long time. Iโ€ฆ

Pros
  • High test scores for hold and durability
Cons
  • Not as thick as others
