Great, much better than Rit color. What I've probably got with Rit is that blue and black always come out with a purple tint. I've only tried Procyon once, it's great. I dissolved a cup of bath salts, a cup of Arm & Hammer washing soda, and dye in hot water before soaking the clothes. I dyed faded clothes, no ties so I left it there for 24 hours. Everything turned out great. Now I will use this brand.

I was amazed given the mixed reviews but it went well with my jeans. I used navy blue to darken the distressed jeans. Follow package directions for salt and soda. I soaked the jeans for about an hour and then washed them twice in the washing machine (cold water). The photo shows two identical jeans - one dyed, the other not. Hard to believe these are the same pants! (Tips: put on rubber gloves, paint in a bucket in the tub, immediately wipe up any spills on the tub with Ajax/Comet.)

I used the same soda, salt and instructions as the other job. Both lots had 2 cotton rugs; the naval party weighed slightly less. For some reason they came out medium blue instead of dark blue - dark blue is very deep and dark, like the color of the US flag, or even a little lighter. Instead it is the color of a deep blue sky. I need to buy more and maybe use two bottles - the difference between the aquamarine result and this result was so different. Even a longer dyeing time would not change…
