Don't get me wrong, the bed is very good. Only thing is we had a cot from the same brand and it was pretty solid. This bed is not that big. Instead of a few wooden slats, I would install a solid lying surface. But other than that it's a good bed. I'm sure it's strong enough for a baby. Very nice baby bed. The box contained everything needed for assembly. The bed was set up in no time. This bed is only suitable for younger children. My son is actually a bit long for this bed (its my fault for waiting so long to get this bed) and it may not last him long (big for his age). But for the price paid and a quality bed, it's worth it.
