The Elf on the Shelf AESDVD60P Review

Our elf came for the first time today. This is all new to her (she is 3.5 years old) and we needed a good way to explain it. We took the book and DVD and watched it this morning when the Bernard flew in. She liked it and it really helped her understand him better. I thought it was cute too.

Very cute. My two-year-old got through everything and was thrilled. I couldn't wait to start another year of the elf-on-the-shelf tradition so this video was an easy way to get my son at this age into it. Maybe he's too young to grasp the whole concept and definitely too young to pick a name easily.

When my daughter first saw this, she was in love! I bought this DVD for my daughter after vacation. During the holiday season she watched it over and over and then it was taken down and she was so upset. She screamed when it came in the mail and has been watching it non-stop ever since! The DVD freezes in places. Decided to keep because my child would be heartbroken if I gave it back. Does the job but not great. The CD does not appear to be scratched. I blew the dust out of the DVD player and it still jumps. The DVD is only about 30 minutes long. A little disappointed that there were no more movements. It's more of a short story. Next time I'll just tape the show to DVR when it airs on regular TV. I would not recommend the show due to the length and omissions.

After hearing a friend ask how she should deal with her 6 year old's 'doubts', I offered to buy this DVD for her children as an early Christmas present. Our family has seen this movie every year, and even we have an elf who "visits" our house every holiday season. This film is suitable for those who are still young enough to believe but are also beginning to doubt the "magic" of Christmas and for those of us who will always believe in the magic that is Christmas brings with it. Highly recommend

We recorded the fairy story on TV. Whenever our 1 1/2 and 2 1/2 year old great grandchildren came to visit, they asked to see it - 3 or 4 times. My husband accidentally deleted it and it was heartbreaking when a 1 1/2 year old kept saying "eleven" and we didn't have one. I would highly recommend this film to anyone who is already doing or considering the Elf on the Shelf Christmas tradition. My son (3 at the time) loves this movie. It's really cute, well done, and well worth watching for adults too. At that time he couldn't get through every show but this one. We also have the book Elf on the Shelf. The book is great for explaining the "rules" but the movie really warms you up to its elf. The plot of the film tells about a family with two preschool-age twins…
