Great for Preschool Aged Kids!

What a great game! My daughter is going to preschool in the fall and its the perfect game for her to practice her counting skills. She enjoys playing AND getting to count up all the bones at the end. As an added bonus, she's also getting to practice simple addition and subtraction. Would definitely recommend!

Pros
  • Engages children in learning through fun activities
Cons
  • Could be too frustrating for children with perfectionist tendencies

New favorite game! best in my review

Xmas gift for my 3 year old. He loved it, understands rules. My 5 yr old and 7 year old love it too. There are teachable sportsmanship moments when seagull steals bones back or you skip a turn. I liked it because of the math and counting, but there are a lot of other good reasons to get this game for your kids. I looked up the other games from the company and shelby seems to be better rated.

Pros
  • Helps children develop basic counting and sorting skills
Cons
  • May not help children build perseverance or resilience

This company makes great games

I love the games that this company makes. Each one is aimed at an age group and a specific skill set. I buy these for my niece and godson. They really offer a fun way to learn for young preschoolers.

Pros
  • Almost the same as a squirrel game. If you have it, no need for another. But the game itself is great.
Cons
  • May not provide enough variety to keep kids engaged

Great game for younger kids

Our 2 and 5 year old both understood and liked the game. There is educational value in the counting. The dog squeezer is a little tough to use for small hands, but they just pick up the bones themselves if they don't want to use it.

Pros
  • Helps pre-schoolers prepare for kindergarten
Cons
  • May not offer enough variety to keep children interested

Quarantine saver for kids

My 5 year old is a little delayed so finding games for her to play with her 7 year old sister is hard. I played the first game with them to teach, and they have been playing for hours. Easy to learn, easy to teach, and fun for hours. Screw this quarantine this game will save you a headache or two.

Pros
  • A valuable addition to any educational resource library
Cons
  • May not help children learn important life skills

Shelby's snack shack is our favorite!

This game is so much fun. I have a 5 year old and a two year old. They both enjoy the game and it can keep their attention for a decent amount of time. They can also play this alone, which is AWESOME. I recommend this and think it would make a great gift! I am a huge fan of EI's games. I love the tweezers which are perfect for small hands. The material everything is made out of is great quality and sturdy. My dog did chew up two of the little bones we lost in the shag carpet (which was pretty…

Pros
  • Great game for toddlers and preschoolers. The game materials are very high quality.
Cons
  • May not be challenging enough for older children

Five Stars: my feedback

Great quality! Fun to play! Will be buying more of this brand! This is our favorite of the educational insights games! My 4 year old granddaughter loves it! We also have Kiaka Capers and Sneaky Snacky Squirrel. They are fun but Shelby’s Snavk Shavk is the best of the 3 we have. Love the quality of the games!

Pros
  • Develops critical reasoning and problem-solving abilities
Cons
  • Could be too simplistic for families who are used to more complex games

We love Shelby!: my feedback

We love this game. My four year old son saved up his allowance for weeks to purchase this, because he loves the Sneaky Snacky Squirrel game, and he saw the advertising insert for Shelby inside that one. This one did not disappoint. The materials are sturdy (exponentially more so than the average cardboard game components, this is on a par with the Peaceable Kingdom games), the illustrations are adorable, and my son just loves to pick up the bones with the pug squeezer. We play this all the…

Pros
  • Toys & Games
Cons
  • Could be too easy for some children

Fun AND educational!

Such a fun game! My 3 year old has a speech delay from hearing loss, and we bought this game on the recommendation of his speech therapist. He loves it AND he’s learning colors and counting while having fun!

Pros
  • Wish the bones came in different colors to make it more visually stimulating.
Cons
  • May not offer enough opportunities for creativity or open-ended play

Great counting game for 3-5 year olds

Our 3 year old loves playing the game and counts out the bones. She also practiced hand manipulation with the pincher, which is high quality. The bones are also high quality, but the bowls are just cardboard with wrapping. You can make the play shorter by having less bones. It’s fun and educational.

Pros
  • 4 - 7 months
Cons
  • May not be well-suited for children with learning disabilities

Great game for three-year-olds & up

This is a wonderful game for kids to learn counting & teaching the values sportsmen ship. I have played this game with my 3, 5 & 6 year old grandkids & it is a lot fun. I purchase this game to have at my house when they come to visit then my son in informed me it would sure be nice to have one at his house so I bought another 1.

Pros
  • my puplis love this game
Cons
  • Parents may lose interest quickly

Fun game that works on early math and fine motor skills!

This is the cutest game ever! My kids are big dog lovers so I knew they would love this game and I was right! They ask to play this game every morning after breakfast. I love how the bottom part of the box is part of the game so it is easy to clean up everything and put it all back in the box after we are done playing with it so we don’t lose any pieces. We had to make some adjustments to the game so my 2.5 year old can play with us and my 4 year old still loves playing this game! The Shelby…

Adorable, Fun, Educational!

My 4 years old opened this for her birthday and it has been played with often since. She can even get her 14 year old sister to play with her. Fun for all of us. It is extremely cute and well made! We love the little bones and it is helping her learn to recognize numbers and learn to count!

Pros
  • Develops communication and language skills
Cons
  • Could be too simple for children who enjoy more challenging games

It's a Favorite in my review

This is one of my grandson's favorite games and so that makes it a hit for grandma. Short of having something missing this was going to be a 5 star for me the minute I ordered it. I was impressed with the fast delivery and would highly recommend this seller. Thanks for making my grandson happy!

Pros
  • Simple game instructions are easy for children to understand
Cons
  • May not help children learn practical math skills

Adorable and useful!

This game is so cute! My son, who is 5, is obsessed with pugs because we have 2. So he was thrilled to see this game. I like the game because not only does it work on numbers and counting but addition and subtraction. Also how to deal with loss when someone, or some bird, takes away your bones. It's good practice for taking turns and following directions and even some basic strategic skills. It seems pretty durable and not flimsy. The "Shelby Squeezer" is adorable but a little large and…

Pros
  • Offers educational value for homeschooling families
Cons
  • Could be too repetitive for children who need more stimulation

All around great, family fun. Cutest game ever!

Cutest game ever. It's a counting game sort of like Hi-Ho Cherry-O, but way way cuter. My 3 year old granddaughter will just sit and entertain herself with this by herself. It has like 24 rubber bones (nice weight to them) that you scatter onto the board, which is an enclosed sided box that looks like a beach. Each player has a dog bowl which is made of really heavy, heavy cardboard. I doubt you could smash them if you jumped up and down on them, that's how heavy the cardboard is. I digress. It

Pros
  • Provides a safe and fun way for kids to learn
Cons
  • May not help children develop spatial awareness or other important skills

Fun, Easy, Engaging!

This is an adorable game; my three-year-old loves it, and is learning how to count better as we play. And the book that comes with it is fantastic; he enjoys reading it as much as he enjoys playing the game. If you have younger children with a tendency to put things in their mouth, you'd definitely have to be careful about where you leave this, due to the texture/size of the bone pieces. Otherwise, you can't go wrong getting this!

Pros
  • Improves hand-eye coordination and dexterity
Cons
  • May not provide children with enough opportunities to independently explore math concepts

Cute game for kids learning to count. Very well made. We bought this over a year ago and it was lots of fun then. We don't play it a lot anymore since my son has moved on to more complicated games for the most part, but he does want this one still occasionally.

Pros
  • Enhances parent-child relationships through shared learning experiences
Cons
  • May not offer enough opportunities for children to develop their own problem-solving skills
