Denso 453-1011 High Quality Cabin Air Filter for Lexus/Toyota Models - First Time Fit Review

Doesn't quite match my 2005 Camry. Too much shadow around. I could trim it with scissors, trimming each corner edge slightly. Unfortunately I just ordered two of these but one is in the car after some custom finishing.

The original Denso filter in my 2009 Sienna van had a rigid mesh attached to the paper filter that supported the paper filter. Folding the mesh into folds gave it good strength. This one has no mesh, is much looser, has far fewer folds, and far less surface area. I estimate it holds about half the dirt of an original Denso at the same flow rate times the pressure drop.

Perfect fit for my 2003 Lexus ES300 that uses OEM #87139-YZZ03. Meaning; Insert one side first, then press the other side evenly and slide inward. This may seem counterintuitive as it will temporarily deform some wrinkles. However, if you try to lay it front to back, the sides will be permanently crushed and they won't want to go back to normal.

The reason I give it 3 stars is because of the quality. The filter fits perfectly on my Lexus rx350 but the quality is so bad I had to deduct at least 2 stars. I read that the factory filter was made by Denso so I had high expectations. But the quality of the filter is very different from the OEM filter. The factory filter is covered with a plastic mesh, and the replacement model is a very, very thin filter. As I said, it was a Lexus filter change. Before buying, I will test your filter for its
