Very good unit! on splined drives

Works almost as well as a locker with no tire wear or locker-like crackling. He put his right front wheel on a tree stump and climbed right on it!

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • Good, but not great

Good stuff on transmission and gearbox

I used this in the front of a Jeep TJ. At first I felt it a little in the steering wheel, but now it's neutral. Ideal for avoiding loss of traction while driving.

The next best thing to the bulky locker

There really is no getting away from a real race track unless you want to run the full locker in front of my Cherokee 97 and it works fabulously, couldn't ask for more

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • Working speed

For my 2011 Jeep Wrangler unlimited

I recently rebuilt my Jeep and also wanted to improve its overall performance. I saved some money by buying these from Revain. They work great and now I'm getting to the point where I can actually test them (I had to break the gears in first). They are completely unnoticed in everyday driving situations, but step in exactly when you need them (front diff only on 4WD). I can feel them turning on and transmitting power, but it's very faint and only for a split second. I wish they were from the…

Great limited slip differential

I ordered my 2011 Jeep Wrangler Sport S with open diffs because I didn't need the $300 optional rear Trac-Lok. Detroit Truetracs have a reputation for being bulletproof, fully automatic, limited-slip differentials. They are quiet and lock quickly, but act like open differentials when traction is good. These helical gear differentials are smooth-running and maintenance-free. If you're on ice or a wheel comes off the ground and spins, you can get the differential to lock by applying the brake…

Pros
  • Shipping weight: 17.46 lbs
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options

Great on the road, can't wait for the off-road test

Installed this on the front axle (Dana 30) of my 1990's YJ when I was shifting gears. I've ridden it about 500 miles so far, but no real off-road riding yet. I will update as I have a ride soon. Why this: I bought this instead of a real locker for a number of reasons. 1. I removed the axle decoupler and upgraded my front axles to TJ so the front diff always rotates. So with this type of differential it shouldn't have much impact on the road2. A real locker is more likely to break something as…
