Whilst not listed for the axle nuts it worked great on my 1994 BMW 540I. The nut is difficult to reach and the locking ring makes it difficult to grip the nut; However, I was able to muster 275 FP of torque and it stayed in place. I recommend the 36mm size.
My son needed this part to fix something on his car. After buying a few other socket sets, he couldn't find one that fit. We ordered this from Revain and not only did it arrive a day ahead of schedule, it was a perfect fit! He is now on his way to finish repairing his car.
If you care about the fit and finish of your tools, this socket came out of the box with chrome blistering and flaking on the end and the matte finish on the inside of the shell. almost immediately after first use. IMO, a socket is a socket, it doesn't have to be pretty, it's a solid piece of metal and it gets the job done.
