DEWENWILS Protector Extension Industrial 1440Joules Review

I was hoping it would resemble the Stanley splitter I had years ago but it only looks similar. The cable ties are too short to wrap the entire cable for a field trip. Very bad design that could have been great.

There are many of these surge protectors. For the money and versatility, this one was perfect for charging your phone and Blu-Tooth speaker in the garage. I needed more outlets in two places in the garage and both units I bought are doing great.

I bought this because of the long power cord so I could have a common power supply for desktop appliances in the middle of the garage. I've hooked up a table saw, miter saw, vacuum, grinder, and fan, although they don't all work at the same time. A switch ensures they are all off. I can also connect my phone to charge. Satisfied so far.

First; This product is made in China. I removed the back cover because I wanted to mark the holes in the cover so I could hang it on the wall. In doing so, I found that the assembly's ground wire is held in place by a screw that threads into the star washer at the end of the ground wire, and nothing else. I have no idea how this product ended up on the UL listing but it says it is. I threw it in the trash.

The so-called circuit breaker has a rated output of 15 watts, but can hardly handle half the load. Now it doesn't even charge the phone. Worse, you can't replace or bypass the switch, it's an integrated circuit. I bought this device knowing that it might not be of very good quality, but I was attracted by the price and features. I didn't expect this to last as every other cheap surge protector with USB ports died for me within a few years. When I received this item I was about to plug it in and there was a rumble coming from the surge protector. I opened it up and found a large blob of solder hanging around. Of course it could cause serious problems if I plugged it in. The quality inside was pretty bad

I bought this because it has a UL rating but I decided to disassemble it anyway. The insides of it are absolutely disgraceful. The offset ground wire was pushed through the plastic case into the sharp edge of the guide on the hot side. The hot rails are connected by a curved clip that barely touches the solder pad on the board. I love this product and highly recommend it. I bought one and loved it so much I ordered two more. Now that I'm working from home, I really needed to organize a bedroom combined with a home office. The block has well-spaced outlets to accommodate some of the bigger pluses. There are also USB sockets for charging your phone and wireless headsets. It's clean and works great.
