Good light as a replacement for halogen

This LED flashlight gives a lot of light. I needed something with light direction for a pendant light, with less heat and power at low voltage, and this is the best I've seen so far. It has lights pointing away from the socket at the end and also around the bulb which puts out a lot of light. These photos show the LED bulb itself and one with it in the foreground and the halogen behind. There were 5 in the set and I've only tried 1 so far, will update if the others don't work.

Fingers crossed: Bulbs

About 5 years ago I switched my outdoor lighting to LED. In general I'm happy. BUT, like all LEDs, they don't last as long as advertised. In the last 5 years I've had to replace over half of my 20 year old light bulbs (which is comparable to older halogen bulbs which cost many times less than LEDs). Since my original LED bulbs are no longer offered here, I'm trying them out. The color is nice and warm and they have the right brightness. I remain optimistic that I will live with them longer than

Not 3W - more like 1.5W

I chose these because they offer high brightness in a small package. I ordered 10 pieces of 3W G4 LED bulbs. I received a pack of 10 1.5w G4 LED bulbs. When powered by 12V DC, most drew about 1.56 watts. It consumed 1.68 watts. One consumed 1.44 watts. One consumed 1.32 watts. None of them were even close to 3W. So the claim that they are equivalent to 30W halogen bulbs is wrong. If we assume they are 80% more energy efficient than incandescent bulbs, the equivalent wattage is (generously) 8…
