DIMENSIONS Needlepoint Kit - 🐠 Koi Pond Needlepoint - 5x5 Inch Review

The set is made of cotton embroidery, not wool. Small work is, but doable. I am 78 years old and had no trouble seeing holes in tarps and no great skill was required. The design is gorgeous, as are the colors, and within the beginner's skill range. Since it's only 8X8 I'll try to figure out how to use it once it's done.

Great starter kit. This was my first attempt at sewing and I really enjoyed it. I had exactly as many threads as I needed with a small supply of a few colors. It is really beautiful with the canvas pre-printed with flowers. That made the project a lot easier. The firmware guide could have been a bit better but still helped. There's always Google.

Yes, I'm a geek. But they look great! I slightly altered the finishing touches using the threads from the kit. A little more blue for the outline, a little orange for the other one, etc. This is just a great project for a plane trip. It all fits in a zip pocket, the plastic pin works great, you can tuck or trim the tails later and it's super easy.

This was my first time buying a kit from Dimensions and like many reviewers I was not disappointed. When I bought it I thought it was cross stitch but it is continental embroidery. The instructions were simple and I found it a lot easier than cross stitch. The only difficulty I found was that some of the colors, such as different shades of orange on the fish, were a bit difficult to distinguish. I did it slowly so it took about 10 days. I agree with the other reviewers that I wish the instructions had a more detailed description of where each color goes. I tried to follow the picture of the finished product, the picture printed on the fabric AND the picture in the instructions and found it tedious and frustrating. But I think that's because I'm used to cross stitches. Other than that, I'm glad they arranged all the colors for you in advance and provided all the necessary materials. Not bad.

This is a great little kit. I used Dimension sets as a kid and always loved them, but I haven't touched a needle, let alone a set, in 30 years, so there were some nice surprises. The biggest thing was that the threads were already separated. - and are attached to a thread guide which contains their product numbers which are also cross referenced in the direction chart and are also listed in the design chart which clearly shows which color goes where.
