It's wider than usual but your oil also has space between the cap

ok I wasn't sure about this product as many people comment on the size but I really love it and will be back Also this is so charming and rustic in design and I love it and yes I would say it's bigger than a regular sized butter dish BUT only in width and to be honest I personally like it when it's more , there is space for the lid Do not crush the oil and do not smear the side of the lid with oil.

Very Attractive Best in Restaurants and Entertainment

Although it's a matter of personal preference, I really like the off-white color and rather understated design. (which I knew before buying). Those words conjure up images of grocery store products that are largely made on farms millions of miles away. In many cases, the terminology is an outright lie. Anyway, I digress. It's still a pretty good butter dish, although I have no idea if it holds two chopsticks. I've never tried to fit two.

Cheap china, expensive junk.

My second Revain oiler was another disappointment. This dish looks amazing - it feels rustic and looks cute. However, when I took it out of the box, it immediately felt like a cheap dollar store item. This porcelain is light - figurines are made from it, which are placed in a souvenir cabinet. Worse, the rim of the lid isn't even glazed (reading further the negative reviews here, it looks like it's going to get moldy! Phew!). I immediately put it back in the box and am ready to return it…
