Excellent quality. Use it in HD now, use it in 4K later.

I liked the converter chip, there is a connector on one end of the cable. My wife uses it for her MacBook with HD display and is very happy with it. I chose it because of the quality and because it can be used with 4K displays in the future.

Does not fully work with Surface Pro 3

Purchased to connect my Surface Pro 3 to my home theater HDMI port. The video is transmitted normally, but the audio is not. The audio is interrupted, which makes the streaming movie unplayable. It is not possible to return an item for a refund. I gave it of good will.

Transmits 4K via Thunderbolt 2 connector

For those who want to transmit 4K via Thunderbolt 2 to HDMI display input (4K requires HDMI 2.0 or higher), you need an HDMI 2.0 cable, what is this? The braided cable really comes in handy when you need to reel the cable around a lot, which I have to do as I travel a lot. So far I've only hooked it up to my TV and it's worked great for streaming. The streaming services/browsers I use are Roku and Safari. My computer is a 2017 MacBook Air 13" with a Thunderbolt 2 port.

Poor connection for audio and video accessories

Out of the box, any touch on the Mini DP/Thunderbolt cable causes a loss of connection on my MacBook Pro. This doesn't apply to other mini DP/Thunderbolt cables I have, so I know it's not a connector issue on my computer.
