For those who want to send 4K over Thunderbolt 2 to an HDMI display input (4K requires HDMI 2.0 or higher), you will need an HDMI 2.0 cable to get it is . The braided cable really comes in handy when you have to roll the cable a lot, which I have to do since I travel quite a bit. So far I've only hooked it up to my TV and it's worked great for streaming. The streaming services/browsers I use are Roku and Safari. My computer is a 2017 MacBook Air 13" with a Thunderbolt 2 port.
