These are splinters, coarse stirrers, but I don't lick them off so I don't care! They are MUCH better than plastic stir sticks, which will live forever in a landfill. My job doesn't allow me to buy wooden stirrers, so I personally bought them to put in our staff canteen. No one has complained and I feel a lot better not seeing little plastic straws in the bin. 100% will be a rebuy.

I'm trying to limit camping in a cabin or RV and it's BETTER. You don't have to mess up your morning teaspoon or mix drinks, and they won't destroy the environment. I put them in a little "basket" on the counter and toss them on the fire if we have one. It seems that the only things that save time and effort when camping are plastic cutlery or coffee stirrers, so this is a good option. Plastic is not suitable for our outdoor life.

I make book corners and other crafts. These coffee stirrers are great for woodworking and for applying glue and mixing paint. The sample image shows them detailing the second and third floors of a book corner using cardboard, putty, paint, and glue. Wooden sticks are good for coloring and add volume to small scenes. They're not as good as the ones I used to salvage from B&N, but since we can't make our own coffee these days, they're a great substitute.

I didn't know what to expect when I ordered these. I didn't think they would work so well! I take one of these things, hold it between the thumb and forefinger of my right hand. In my left hand I hold a coffee mug (with hot Folgers Crystals coffee and cream) and carefully lower the stirrer into the hot mixture. I put the stirrer in about half way.
