Description of DMC 1768 24 Chenille Hand Needles

Premium grade nickel plated steel needles. Large-scale Crewel or modern stitchery employs heavier threads for which you will want the sharp Chenille needles in larger sizes. They're good for fastening the ends of couched threads and are also useful in some areas of stumpwork

Suitable for wool applique

Purchased for embroidery on cotton. (I like a big eye.) The point isn't sharp enough, but not as blunt as a tapestry needle. However, they are ideal for wool applications.

Pros
  • Brings joy
Cons
  • Legacy model

DMC Chenille Needles

I needed these to use multiple needles with different thread colors for my small cross stitch tablecloth. They had the best eye and needle length for my project so I kept them. Good quality needles and not a crazy price

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Thin

Better for light projects.

These needles aren't bad and will probably do for the lighter work. I needed a strong needle to get through multiple layers when hand knitting a blanket and those needles were clearly not the right size for the job. They bent quite slightly when I used them for this quilting project.

Pros
  • The best in their niche
Cons
  • I'll add later
