2006 Mini S - 3rd Brake Light Exact Replacement

3rd Brake Light Exact Replacement For my 2006 Mini S. Perfect fit, no gaps, very easy to install! If you need a replacement, this is what you need! Obtain! Like most, my red reflective lens fell off, probably while driving. Very happy with this item!

Pros
  • practical item
Cons
  • long delivery time

Perfect fit, good brightness

As others have said, the red plastic outer cover on my stock unit mysteriously disappeared one day after running the car for 11 years. I was keen to try an alternative as the OEM seems to have a defect. The fit and brightness are the same as the OEM. Can't beat the price. The real test is durability. If anything goes wrong I will update.

Pros
  • Easy to install
Cons
  • Requires power outlet

Best price I could find for this part

Bought this before winter and haven't installed it yet but looks like it will help eventually. Good quality according to the person who will install it soon. I hope this one survives the car wash better than the last one (which was ten years old so can't complain). It was also the best price out there.

Pros
  • Nice to use
Cons
  • Tradeable

Pretty easy and straightforward installation.

Like many others who have posted here, my third lightbulb popped out of my ten year old MINI. It was pretty easy to install. Like everything else MINI related, the bolts are torque type. Sorry I forgot the size but I'm pretty sure the bolts were T8. I also used long thin pliers to help maneuver under the spoiler.

Pros
  • Permanent Test Results
Cons

Perfect replacement for my broken taillight

Perfect replacement for my broken taillight. The old one's red plastic broke off, letting all the rain into the tailgate and leaking behind the trim into the battery compartment under the carpet. I had to spend some time drying the car but 3 bolts pulled out the old one, 3 bolts put this one in. There is a rubber pad on the back to keep it waterproof.

Pros
  • Slim design
Cons
  • poorly thought out

Good product. Easy installation! great value

Replacement was too easy. This Dorman third brake light is easy to install. Three torx screws and connector. After the old light was turned off, everything went smoothly. It seems the factory lighting had the problem that others are talking about. The original's red cap is gone, but again this is a 2005 Mini. The price for this part could not be better. The same build was $142 on an auto parts site.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Functionality

Hopefully better than OEM

Like many Mini R53 Cooper S owners, my red lens fell off the third brake light. I looked on You Tube to find out how to remove the light. It's very easy, actually easier than shown in a couple of videos. There are 3 TX15 screws on the top of the hatch. Remove the screws. Now the videos on You Tube said you had to loosen and pinch the rear spoiler but I was able to get mine off without touching the spoiler. After removing the brake light screws, use a screwdriver to pry the posts out, then the…

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Low repairability
