Cheap but works.

This is not a very good quality pen. There are traces of casting, but it doesn't matter. It's a damn pen that nobody pays much attention to. It fits into your shifter as designed. I like.

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • Almost never

Will not fit GM Auto Shifter

Purchased for full size '91 Blazer and knob rotates and dangles. No press fit. You have to glue or grind it somehow. Looks like original GM knobs but far from original. The inside of the handle is a smooth plastic sleeve. No slot, no thread. Smooth plastic.

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • No Auto Shifter

Great as a replacement shift knob for MTD mowers

This is exactly what other Revain reviews say. This is a great replacement for the MTD deck shift knob. This is a Dorman shift knob with GM appliqués 1975 onwards, Checker 1970 onwards. The instructions say do not turn the knob. I rolled mine on a mower and it fit perfectly. If I ever put one like this on a 1970's Checker cab, I'll do it right.

Pros
  • Heavy duty construction
Cons
  • Price

Ideal for ride-on lawn mowers

Recently bought a 35 year old lawn mower, no gear knob. Went to Revain looking for a replacement. work, I wouldn't have too much money. I ordered a Dorman pen, it arrived a few days later, fit and look was very good. The handle is not as big as on cars and trucks, better fits smaller applications. If you need a replacement handle for garden tractors, snow blowers or small applications, this Dorman handle should be a good choice.

Pros
  • All right!
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Designed for a very limited number of vehicles

The description doesn't say it's for old "pillar" slates and not floor models. It will not replace the shift knob on any manual transmission I know of, although there may be some 'tree-on-a-tree' models among the cars listed on the box. Applications on the box (not listed on the Revain website). ) are: GM 1975 and later, Checker 1970 and later. It is, and it would be nice to know before you buy. For these uses it is a great product. So if you happen to drive an old Checker cab (remember those?)

Pros
  • Best
Cons
  • Ok
