I bought two of these and thought I'd keep both in my oil pan (I use a double block) one for salted and one for unsalted. However, they are quite large and I can only fit one in my oil pan. But the quality is definitely there and I really recommend it. I use the second for cream cheese and just keep it in the fridge.

My Favorite Oil of All Time! Found this at a restaurant supply store years ago and loved that it came with 2 packets of butter in a block of butter. I can't tell you how many times I've dropped the plate and/or lid and no broken glass to pick up. Cracks but doesn't break! I've been looking for a replacement for a long time and finally found it and it was very cheap!

In my "search" for a decent "Euro style" butter block oiler at Revain I went with this one first as it's reasonably priced and seems to meet my basic needs. It's wider than necessary, so there may be some restrictions on placement in the fridge. The platen is deeper than I like, in part to provide a lid-holding feature that forces the knife to cut at a high angle.
