Adopting innovative circuit design, DC 5-20V wide input working voltage, the amplifier circuit can always work at a high voltage of 26V, and the background noise index is excellent. With wide frequency response extension, excellent transient response, excellent purity and transparency, and good dynamic range. Adopting original TI-NE5532 classical op amp and transistor expanding current circuit, using 1300mA large current output transistor working in class A status, with ultra-low distortion, and the sound is warm and delicate, full and mellow. Pluggable op amp socket design, convenient to upgrade different op amps and bring much DIY fun and playability for audiophiles. This thing is incredibly big for what it is. I have other DACs/amps and they are half the size or smaller. Although they are more expensive. The sound quality is not very good. I have high impedance headphones (hd6xx 300 ohms I think) so I bought these because I had a specific device I was using them with and it couldn't handle a high enough volume. This results in LOTS of noise at high volume levels. Not to the point where it goes beyond what you normally hear (unless you listen to high…

Nice clean sound, copes well with my 600 ohm AKG cans

=Update=I hooked this unit up to a 12v power supply today and it has worked with my 600 ohm AKGs are given the best volume and range. but I also realize that I might have made a mistake when I originally tested them, thinking that the RCA outputs on my DAC/ADC are just plain line outputs. but they are actually controlled by the DAC's master volume. So yes. i was just an idiot It has enough power = Original = Well, that was a bit disappointing. I bought this because the headphone output on my…

This is the way. Great little thing if you're into DIY.

TL:DR - I don't know if anything can top this $30 for 200 ohm+ headphone performance. Also makes a very good little portable setup as it can run on battery power. A clean power supply makes a noticeable difference. The USB 3 ports on the front of my PC are adequate and make no noise, although your mileage may vary. I have four other amps: Magnius, Magni, JDS Labs Element 2 and THX 789 (Asgard 3 otw too). This little thing beats Magni when it comes to soundstage. One caveat is that I replaced…

Pros
  • Handy
Cons
  • Slightly Crumpled

I bought this amp to connect to my Schiit Modius to be an extra amp to mount on the bucket seat of my racing simulator. I didn't want to run my headphone wires across the room and figured it would be easier to hook up the RCA to the sim and originally intended to buy the Shi'ar Magni from stock just to save money. Now it attaches directly to my seat's side mount and I can move my Sennheiser HD660s from my desk to my sim rig without fiddling with headphones and without much loss of quality. My…
