I'm new to wood carving and a bit clumsy. So these gloves were meant for me. This has saved me a few times while getting used to spoon carving. Note that these gloves are not puncture resistant. I had a stitch and cut my thumb. Even though he went through the gauntlet, the gauntlet slowed him down a bit. The cut could have been a lot worse. If you're starting out with wood carving or if you're going to be using a knife a lot, I recommend gloves. It stops lacerations, but not puncture wounds.

Purchased for use with a knife. These are the slipperiest gloves I've ever seen, making them totally unsuitable for use with knives, picking up objects, or using railings. The cut resistant gloves at work were very sticky but they are terrible. Giving two stars instead of one because they fit and are comfortable. I usually wear XL with native gloves but I usually wear 2XL with imported gloves. We're trying to decide whether to return them or just write them off as a waste.

These gloves work great. Very useful for wood carving. They offer protection from accidental cuts, I can speak to that personally as a newbie to carving, I had a few mistakes during my training.
