These gloves work great. Very useful for wood carving. They offer protection from accidental cuts, I can speak to that personally as a newbie to carving, I had a few mistakes during my training. These gloves protected my hand from several potential cuts. Note that they probably won't prevent a knife's point from being pierced, but they do a good job and are very handy for preventing accidental slips while carving. Highly recommended. I've read some negative reviews about the gloves cutting through. I think if you cut the gloves on purpose it's probably possible, but as protection from slipping or accidentally grabbing with a sharp knife they do an excellent job. My two cents in general: be careful, wear gloves, and anticipate where the knife might go if it slips before you start cutting. It's a fun hobby, even more fun when no bandages are involved.
