Very good, I like it. Firstly, I can't say how accurate it is because it's the only one I can't compare anything to. The reason I bought it was to compare one light output to another. So I wanted to know which lights are brighter, the T12 or the new T8.?.?. This flashlight or that flashlight. These LED bulbs or these incandescent bulbs. I think you get the point. So that means T8 is almost twice as bright as T12 and so on. For example, one lamp emits 856 lux and another 1476 lux. Super easy to…

Not too shabby for hobbyist/everyday

In short, overall if you just want something inexpensive for comparing lighting levels around the house or from one place to another, this is a perfectly reasonable and inexpensive meter. As mentioned, this gauge is only really good for comparisons and not absolute measurements unless you calibrate it yourself. and if you have access to the necessary hardware, you probably won't buy something that cheap! However, it makes repeatable measurements and displays up to "1999" which must be…

Handy and accurate light meter - very useful range

This light meter is amazing. I use it to check light levels because I'm incredibly sensitive to light (it's a medical condition). Being able to measure the full range of light from a dim lamp to bright sunlight is great. The meter is accurate over the entire range, although it cuts out at the peak of sunlight (full noon - clear California skies). For the average person (me) it doesn't matter.
