Not really Cat6: Cat 6 cable

This does not meet international standards for Cat6 cable as it is copper clad aluminum and not pure copper. This results in significant data loss and can be damaged very easily, especially when running cables through the walls of a home or office. I'm sure it's great for making short single high speed cables but DO NOT use it for long cables or home/office wiring.

Pros
  • High marks for tester support and durability
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than other options

Not advertised cable

This cable is not to CAT6 standard, it is made of copper coated aluminum which means it is a copper coated aluminum wire. The quality is much worse than copper cables and you will not see full CAT6 speeds with this cable, it is also very fragile to work with.

Pros
  • Cool product
Cons
  • Good but not great

distribution difficulties.

Although the wire appears to be of good quality, the wire gauge leaves something to be desired. Every 6 or 7 feet or so results in a nasty wire break. This bend defeats the purpose of using qualified Category 6 cable. I will not be ordering from this site again unless it is in a rollout box.

Pros
  • Best
Cons
  • Frequency

Carefully! Computer Accessories and Peripherals

Not as thick as advertised! It's copper-plated aluminum. While this will likely work, it's not "solid" copper like I thought from the description. Low price for a reason. Not a professional product but more of a do-it-yourself radio store hobbyist willing to sacrifice quality for the dollar.

Pros
  • Nicely
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options

Poor choice for long distances

For some reason this cable cannot be used with a wireless PoE access point at 170 feet. Performance was low and the cable failed gigabit tests. Continued to show problems on the orange pair. Run a different length from the same box and got the same problem again. I finally ran some Cat5s I had (different brand) and it worked great. While this Cat6 cable has worked well for less than 100 feet, I will not be purchasing this item again.

Pros
  • Cat 6 cable
Cons
  • Legacy model

The cable pulls out of the box easily and looks sturdy. I installed everything in my new house but ended up ripping it all out and replacing it with solid copper. Please read about copper clad aluminum. It's cheaper and probably fine for most home uses, but it wasn't worth the $60 saved to me. I paid extra for part of my sanity. I cannot recommend this product as I have not used it. I'm only writing this review to make someone else think twice and not repeat everything like I did.

Pros
  • Computer accessories and peripherals
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled

False advertising. Doesn't even transmit data

Be careful. This is an unacceptable cable for pretty much anything. I've just used 4 different lengths of this POE security scrap only to find out that it has virtually no copper in it. When you peel it off it appears like copper, but when you cut it open you only see silver. Only 1 piece of cable works with my cameras, it seems to be under 90ft. Anything further than 100 feet won't even work. I am very upset with this purchase, huge waste of time waiting for it to show up then time to execute…

Pros
  • Cables and connections
Cons
  • Not sure
