Good for cross stitch

I have a pattern that uses a half cross with 4 strands in many places instead of the full cross with 2 strands as usual. Aida 14 counts. It's almost impossible to thread 8 strands (4 doubles) through the strands on the back of my work to start or stop a color just with my fingers. The needle is too smooth. Put in these needle pullers. They work great! The same can be done with a new unfilled balloon, but they're fine too.

Watch out for needles and fingers.

This is a great addition to any repair kit. You know that feeling when you're patching something thick or stiff (e.g. hemming a pair of jeans) and you keep trying to push the needle through, but the needle bends? Yes, it doesn't work very well. They allow you to pull the needle from the other side without putting pressure on the bend and without creating holes in your fingers. Or, for example, by sewing on Velcro? Use them to thread the needle through the ribbon. You can wash them in the sink…

Pros
  • Sewing
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

They seemed like a reasonable accessory and something I might need, so I bought a pack of these. (Plus, they didn't cost much.) I like them. They're pretty simple, just little bits of silicone or something you wrap around the needle to make it easier to pull through. (This is an alternative to piercing the needle with a thimble from the other…
