Too loud good for hard drive accessories

It was next to my M1 Mac Mini. It was too loud to have in the room. The new Max is very, very quiet and not very, very loud. I wouldn't recommend if you want to be in the same room as your computer. Much louder than the average fan.

Works great with a constraint greater than or equal to the target size.

Excellent product. It didn't get 5 stars overall because cloning requires the same or larger hard drive. In most cases this is not possible. Clones HDD and SSD normally. Had one hanging at 75% for a few days, finally unplugged but the clone was fine. Very easy to use.

Works great but running a clone is a bit of a hassle.

Works great but it's a bit difficult to get a clone. It's a combination of things before you start. You start with two orange disk lights, then hold the clone button for three seconds, release, then a blue light will appear quickly, then press the clone button two or three times again to get it working. It could have been a lot easier.

It's too loud: Computer Accessories & Peripherals

Bought for USB-C capability for an SSD hub and it works right out of the box. But I had to get rid of it. It was the loudest part of my system. The two SSDs didn't do anything either while idling, but the fan was loud for no reason. I will try replacing the fan with a quieter one. If you don't plan on using it daily, you should be fine. I do not recommend it as a docking station for the daily driver.

after 12 hours of work still less than 50% copied

I set it up and everything seemed to work fine. Windows recognizes every connected drive. Then I used the clone function. The source drive was less than 160GB, the destination drive had a 750GB partition deleted. After more than 12 hours it was still showing less than 50% readiness. I stopped the cloning process as the WD software would have made it much faster. When I checked my destination drive, it had 3 partitions, no files could be opened and only part of the data remained on the sourceโ€ฆ

Just buy it in hard drive cases

This works great! I used it to clone two SSD including my boot drive. I have an extra SATA drive plugged in most of the time and use it as an offline backup of my important files. The product is small and stays cool and quiet. The cloning process can be a bit tricky, but once I realized that I had to release it and then press it again after holding the button until the blue light came on, everything was fine! I later found the instructions at the bottom of the box so I'm sorry I didn'tโ€ฆ

Too sensitive to static electricity. - My USB3.1 ports failed on the new motherboard

I have 3 other external docks but I need one for a 16TB drive. That's why I bought this. What mistake. Connected to a computer. No problem. Switched on - no problem. Started walking away and heard my speakers making the noise they make when static electricity builds up. I didn't think anything of it. So the hard drive was never registered? So I turned off the dock. I removed the HD from another dock and connected it to this one. And still the HD has not registered with Windows. So I put the HDโ€ฆ
