Great system. in accessories

very easy assembly. Would give 5 stars but Barnes was a bit short for my 1500 RAM setup and I had to lengthen the driver side cables (not that much). Works perfectly! Used jumper wires for keyless entry to a cheap alarm system. Very happy.

Pros
  • great product
Cons
  • almost everything ok

It works well. My only complaint is that.

Works well. My only complaint is that the primary drive failed in less than a year. I also noticed when removing the actuator that the plastic was becoming very brittle. I live in Las Vegas and the heat may have played a role, but no direct sunlight outside?

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Not bad

The problems started within 2 weeks. And update.

Only two weeks after installation, two doors will not lock/unlock properly. The lock drive barely moves as if lacking power. Now I need to take these doors apart and hopefully find the problem. UPDATE 3/22/16: Went back to the car and redid everything. SAME PROBLEM. Went to the company's website and tried to contact them for help. A week went by and no reply, I'm on my own.

Pros
  • Easy Installation
Cons
  • Only available in Black

So close to being amazing!

It would be nice if the wiring harness was a bit better. Leaves a bad connection, reminds me of trying to get a dusty old Nintendo game to work. Jiggle it, check the wire connections on the back, and pray your doors open. I also wish there was another foot of wire for the passenger door after it splits into the tailgate. Overall it gets a 2 out of 5 because I have to wiggle the wiring harness 2 times a day to make a real connection.

Okay, this is a really cool product to add electric locks to your old cars.

Ok this is really a great product to retrofit your old cars with electric locks. In addition, there is a sensor in the driver's door actuator that unlocks the other door when you unlock it manually (by lifting the lock from inside or using the key from outside). The actuators are pretty damn strong for lifting the heavy locks I have on my '72 bug, and you can plug the controller directly into a remote input, so you don't need a switch or a bunch of relays.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Security

Decent for the price and works with an alarm.

No installation instructions. You have to get creative and figure out what works best. In general I am satisfied with the product, so far there have been no problems with it. 1992 Toyota MR2 with manual door locks. I connected it to my alarm system so I can lock and unlock the device remotely. It no longer needs to be opened with keys.

  • Interior
Cons
  • Very expensive

Easy to install, works great.

My Ram 1500 had manual locks and the cab was too wide to open the passenger door. This kit turned my hand locks into power locks. The only additional detail I needed was a toggle switch on the dash, but the locks work without it. When the driver's side lock is opened/closed, the passenger's side lock is opened/closed. On my truck, the lock on the driver's side is difficult to reach while driving.

Item is shipped a few weeks after a delivery time of 5-8 days. The product is not the same as in the photo. The photo shows two main magnets and two slaves. Actually comes with 1 master and 3 slaves. The connections seem unreliable and should be replaced with better connectors. A few meters more wire would be nice too. Installs fairly easily, but expect some frustration with wired connections.
