The stand itself takes up a bit more space than I would like on my desk, but that's not a big deal. I also think it's a very good mirror! It's thin, looks strong and I can easily see my whole face in it. If they made a slightly smaller one, I would definitely consider getting one for my (future) handbag.

I bought this for travel as a person who Always dissatisfied with mirrors/lighting in hotels. The mirrors are always too far away, the lighting is poor and I stand an uncomfortably distance from the mirror. And as someone who needs glasses to see at a distance, it's very annoying.
