I am disabled and walk about 5000 steps a day, mostly around the block or in a nearby park. Surfaces are sometimes uphill, downhill, or sloped to the left or right. When I switched from traditional trekking pole tips to these, my confidence in poles increased significantly. If there was a wet sheet or the like on the sidewalk or path, the poles would not slip. I take Nordic Walking seriously. I walk 15 to 20 miles a week depending on my work schedule. I'm a certified instructor etc - my technique is decent. About half of my typical route is on tarmac, the rest is on trails where I remove rubber tips and use carbides. The rubber tips that I have always used are very expensive. about $20 for a pair. My nibs have started to wear out and it's time to buy another pair to have on hand so I can replace them soon. I change the brush head about every 8 weeks.
