But for the price it should be made of metal.

Based on the price it should be metal but it's not another piece of plastic, really flimsy plastic that costs a penny to make and sells for $13. I hope the manufacturer reads this. post and cut the price by at least half and if they don't do themselves a favor make your own with just a 1/2 inch piece of plywood and save your money.
