Great product!: Outdoor Recreation

I've been using these bags for over ten years now. They are very durable and will last for years even with regular use. I travel monthly and use them on every trip and probably need to replace them every 4-5 years. I believe they are best in class for this type of product and very easy to use. Small ones work well as hand luggage maybe with 1 full gear. The average size is suitable for t-shirts. I usually put about 10-14 shirts in it. And the large size is great for pants, about 7 pairs fit inโ€ฆ

I don't know what all the great reviews are

Bought these and an extra set. Really disappointed with the performance. No matter what I did, when I reached the end, the rest of the air didn't come out. It was the same as not using them. Tried rolling up the other side, tried undoing the little white tabs but didn't work. I would rather go back to my old name brand baby hand pump bags and actually have a compression garment as well as well developed triceps. I would say they only shrink by half.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • So-so

Bought these bags in late 2017 and one of the two bags broke on first use. Too late to return when we came back. I decided to try again because I thought the first mistake was a one off. Ordered another set in mid-May for a trip in early June. Once again, one bag made it through the trip and the other didn't. Once again too late to retrieve them when we got back from our trip. Both sets of bags were used as directed. I paid more for these bags because of Eagle Creek's reputation. Failed onceโ€ฆ

Clasp needs redesigning

I have been a longtime fan of Eagle Creek products, but this product let me down. First, the little plastic slider you use to close and unzip the zipper slides completely off the bag. Both times I've used the pouches, the little plastic clasp completely came loose when I removed the compression pouch from the gym bag. Second, after the first use, it became difficult to prevent the bag from reinflating. One side of the zipper seemed to stretch and when I tried to zip the zipper back up afterโ€ฆ

Suitable for packing heavy clothing

I have never used compression bags. However, I bought them because I was planning a two-week trip to two different climates. On the way to Ireland I put on sweaters and thicker clothes. Once in Ireland, I repacked all my summer clothing (for the next week in the south of France) into compression sacks. Once in France, I put all my dirty clothes and sweaters back into compression bags. This method worked pretty well. This saves space but requires some effort as they are best placed at the bottom

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Almost never

Great for the busy traveler.

This includes photos from my old set which is about two years old. It's way better than other things I've tried like Ziploc. Technically they haven't got used to it very much in the last year due to Covid. But considering how they've been used a year in a row, I'm very impressed. I'm a pilot with an airline, so they open, close and compress at least 15 times a month, every day I work. Smashed in my pocket and out and about everywhere they do their job well. They don't save as much space as aโ€ฆ
