Really disappointed with the buckle on this belt

Really disappointed with the buckle on this belt. I have purchased several of these belts in the past and have found them to be strong, reliable and handy for storing money on the go. The latest version broke within a week of purchase. The updated buckle looks better thanks to some subtle weaknesses in the plastic where the two pieces meet. The buckle can be easily removed from the belt for replacement, but I won't buy a new buckle every week. I'm looking for a stronger buckle to match the belt

Pros
  • understandable even for the old ones
Cons
  • Annoying

Easy to wear

I really liked the belt. Worn quite often. Unfortunately it broke after 4 months. Looks like they just need to reinforce the loop. I have an older version of this belt that has been around for 5 years now. The new one looks cheaply made.

Pros
  • Makes you happy
Cons
  • A few little things

Good security, not wide enough

I did a second ride with this money belt and it works well in terms of security, it's hidden and it's not obvious that it's a money belt , except for the buckle, which a professional can recognize. It was hard for me to put in the quartered dollar bills and snap it shut. I will be switching to another brand that has a wider top to make it easier to attach bills and find them again. With that, you have to go to the bathroom to partially remove the belt and open it.

Pros
  • Great for a small house
Cons
  • Reliability

Plastic buckle fits accessory

I just received this belt and am writing a review as the description is incorrect. The buckle is NOT metal but plastic with a painted finish that looks like brushed metal. I ordered this strap over a competitor because I was willing to put up with the inconvenience of removing the strap at security checkpoints rather than breaking the plastic buckle. The belt itself consists of webbing with nameless nylon teeth and a metal slider sewn to it, forming a compartment. It's not the value for money I

Pros
  • Regular price
Cons
  • Hard to tell

This version now has a shortened zip section

The strap is LONG ENOUGH that it can be cut/melted to length. The artificial metal buckle is a little tight to use, but it can improve security. However, they shortened zipper storage space by about 1 1/2 inches. They kept the belt the same width. I could fit $1500 worth of $100 bills in the old one, but I had to fold the bills in three! That made it cumbersome but doable. Without changing the belt width and shortening the zip part, I would expect less storage space. :-(

Pros
  • Pretty impressive
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

Eagle Creek All Terrain Money Belt: Black

Like its predecessor, it's tough, but no more. The buckle locking mechanism must be at fault. You lock it by pressing the hinge side, no problem and it's stable, the buckle is secure. Unlocking in a hurry (I always check straight out of the box) is a bit slow though. You can unlock, but the strap itself will unlatch in a matter of seconds. I would advise Eagle Creek (my favorite company) to redesign the buckle and locking mechanism. RECOMMENDED: If this question doesn't bother you, buy a few (I
