They are thicker than I expected. From the description, they look more like flimsy cellophane hinges, but they're actually quite thick and tough. Be sure to remove the backing (tape works best) and these are good, long-lasting filters.

Plain colored plastic identical to the colored 3 ring binder dividers. The colors are washed out. I have used theatrical gels for many years and incorrectly relied on the product labeling. Silly me. Real theatrical gels of the same shade are brighter and more saturated. You get what you pay for.

I have used this product out of the box to make Rheinberg filters (27mm diameter round blanks). , and thin enough for the hollow punch to produce blanks. The leaves are more than necessary for my purpose. It would be nice if there were more color variety.

I actually needed a pair of red and blue 2" x 2" squares to use for spectral comparison of lighting schemes, so they're overkill (and still cheaper than many other) options), but the red and blue 2-inch squares work great for my purpose, and after I cut a strip off each sheet, I gave the remaining 8-1/2 x 9 sheets to a photographer friend. Note: The plates have a very thin protective plastic film on each side which must be removed before use.

We used them for the Christmas lights. We have outdoor LED lighting. With these gels I cut out circles and just place them on my landscape spotlights. I usually cut them slightly larger than the headlight so I can just stick them in the light without glue. I rock Halloween and Christmas so I prefer red, green, orange and purple. I bought these gel filters to improve the outdoor lighting of my house during various holidays. I placed the orange-purple gels on different lights outside my home and noticed that they barely changed color. Although these filters matched the seller's description, I had to double, triple or even quadruple them to get the color modification I wanted.
