Excellent set. I would never ride them because they are too long. I can't put them in my purse to smuggle lunch to the library behind my book castle. The sticks stick out. Even when I sit at home and eat noodles, it still seems too long. I want them to be just an inch shorter. But really excellent quality, very shiny. Good for family style Chinese dining as I reach across the table for mapo tofu with my short arms.

As soon as I took them out of the packaging, I had my suspicions. They are so heavily coated in resin that they look like plastic, especially melamine. I washed them with soap and they were sparkling clean, which is unlikely with this light wood. Even very dense wood usually doesn't crack when it's clean. They appear to be made of relatively high density wood that is fully impregnated with epoxy resin. Since the manufacturers don't tell us what temperature they're safe at, what type of resin…
