Compact, versatile and powerful sub

I have added this subwoofer to Edifier's Rd2000db desktop speakers. I also wrote a review about them. Anyway, I mainly use this subwoofer for PC gaming. This sub really fills those lows. I had to turn the subwoofer down to balance it with the other speakers or it would take over. It has enough sound for a 70W 8-inch subwoofer and easily fills a 25 x 20 foot room. This subwoofer is best for someone in the house, it just hits so low and the bass keeps moving.

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • The list will be long.

Manage Your Expectations

This is a great replacement for those who manage their expectations. I paired it with my pair of AirPulse 80s on my desktop. I placed it directly on the floor under a table with the crossover control set between 80-100Hz and the volume control set for about 1 hour. I can say it doesn't deliver floor-shaking bass despite being very close to my feet, but it definitely improves my listening experience with the AirPulse. Setting up a workplace in a small room.

Great quality for home audio

I use the T5 with small QAcoustics 3010i bookshelf speakers which really benefit from the extra bass range the T5 offers. I listen to classical music and jazz. Classical orchestras play in a variety of concert halls, some of which produce more resonant bass than I would like. The controls on the T5 make it easy to adjust the volume level as well as setting the crossover point below which bass is sent to the subwoofer. This is a quality product at a great price that will appeal to music lovers…

  • Great value for money

Great companion for small computer speakers

I bought this subwoofer to complement a set of Edifier G2000 computer speakers (no bass). It's on the floor in the corner of my L-shaped computer desk. I appreciate the analog volume and cutoff controls. It has a built-in power supply, so no hassles with the wall. It seems to have very low standby power (3W) even if you forget to turn it off - and it will wake up again when it detects a signal. Very convenient! Offers great bass without rasps (although I've only used it at fairly low volumes).

  • Rugged build

HUGE difference

About 9 months ago I bought Edifier 1700BTs speakers for my computer and home studio. While they sound great, the system is designed so you can easily add a subwoofer to fill in the low frequencies that the built-in 4-inch woofer can't handle. Once a subwoofer is connected, the speakers will redirect ALL low frequencies. (up to approx. 170 Hz) to the subwoofer, so that the 1700s can concentrate on their strengths, the mids and highs. This made a big difference. Highly recommended as a…

Great sounding, very flexible subwoofer.

I bought this subwoofer along with Edifier R1280Ts bookshelf speakers and a turntable and they are a perfect match. A pair of R1280Ts are great sounding and good looking speakers, but like any speaker of this size, they just can't produce enough bass. The T5 rounds out the package with more bass and volume. The T5 is very flexible and offers connectivity for different sources, but what I really like is that it has both a volume control and an adjustable low-pass filter. These two controls make…
