Best for older kiddos & one on one instruction

I like the distinction between vowels and consonants, consistency in length and width between letters, and I like the colors. However, I do not like the limited amount of magnets on each letter. If you look at the picture you will see that the vowels only have one magnet and the consonants have two magnets. Vowels slide easily on the board because of this.I would not recommend this product for those who teach online as they appear small on the board. Also I would not recommend this item for…

Pros
  • My daughter loves them and she throws them all over. They stand up to her abuse on them
Cons
  • The magnets are not very strong and can easily fall off metallic surfaces

Great size, magnetics are good

Before you buy please read the Pro's and Con's:Pro's: Great size, magnetics are good, I also like that the vowels are in red and consonants in blue. They came in a nice plastic container, another plus.Con's: Not enough letters. All vowels sounds in red come in 3, so do the "r, s" rest are 2's or 1's. So if you want this for a classroom or small group you will have to buy between 5-10 containers. Also will not work for word families, such as -in, en, (fin, bin, tin, pin, den, men…

Pros
  • I like that there were multiples of common letters and that the vowels were a different color.
Cons
  • Useful, but one box came with letters missing! Not great!

Great learning experiences can happen naturally!

These are great! I love that the vowels are a different color. My 4 year old son loves to play with them. A couple of days ago he was "reading” a bob book with my daughter. Afterward without any prompting on our part he went to the fridge and tried to spell sat. He didn’t get it right but I was so happy we had these out and he connected the concept of the letters making the words he had just read! I let him work at it for a bit and then I went and we found the s a t together. He asks me to show

Pros
  • Very well made- Only compliant would be that the lid is difficult to get on and off.
Cons
  • The letters are not very large, making them difficult to handle for children with poor fine motor skills

These work great for small group table work.

What I love: vowels and consonants are color coded, the font is very legible, great sizeWhat I don't love: the container is really difficult to open, not all letters stay in the correct orientation when being used on an upright magnetic board- they either need more magnets or stronger onesOverall, they work great for the tutoring that I'm doing right now. I just use them on the table with the kiddos.

Pros
  • Toys & Games
Cons
  • The letters are not transparent, limiting their use for children learning the difference between lowercase and uppercase letters

Hard to open on my review.

Letters are good, but I’d hoped to be able to use the containers in my classroom centers with them. The boxes are hard for me to open, and definitely no good for kindergarten kids. That’s wasteful in my opinion. If it weren’t for this, I’d give them five stars.

Pros
  • lids are hard to remove but perfect for individual word work
Cons
  • The magnets can be difficult to remove from metallic surfaces

We love the letters

We love the letters, as it is hard to find magnetic lowercase letters. The container that they are in, however, is extremely difficult to open. I finally took them out and placed them into another plastic container.

Pros
  • Perfect for incorporating into a homeschool curriculum
Cons
  • The set may not be very versatile, as it can only be used for spelling and letter recognition activities

Great letters, but get a different storage container

These are very nice- all lowercase letters. My child needed these for quarantine schooling during covid. My only complaint is that the reusable container they come with is almost impossible to open. My child can’t open the container by himself and it’s hard for an adult to open it. A better design would much improve the packaging. But the letters themselves are great. They have strong enough magnets to stick. We just have to put them into a pencil box instead of the reusable box they come with.

Pros
  • Lowercase letters are perfect for reinforcing early literacy skills
Cons
  • The set does not come with any extra letters or duplicates, making it less flexible for spelling longer words

These magnets are very durable and long lasting.

I highly recommend that you buy these magnets. These magnets are perfect for building words during small group instruction. The magnets on the letters work very well, except on the letters a and o. These two letters don't stay on the board as well as the rest of the letters. Overall, this is an excellent product!

Pros
  • Provides vocabulary and spelling enrichment
Cons
  • The letters may not be suitable for children who have trouble reading small print or have poor eyesight

Small magnets: my feedback

These are fine for us because we don’t use them as magnets. If you want to to use them on your fridge or a whiteboard, I would look else where. These slide sideways because there is only one small magnet on some of the letters.

Pros
  • Provides a fun and hands-on approach to learning
Cons
  • The color-coding system may not make sense to children who are not used to it

Missing letters for my opinion

I bought 6 sets for my classroom. 3 of the sets were complete, but 3 were missing letters. Some of the sets didn’t have 42 letters in them.

Pros
  • Can be used in both indoor and outdoor settings
Cons
  • The letters may not be very easy to read for children who are still learning how to read

Slightly disappointed

The thought of individual kits for my small groups was awesome. I decided to buy one set to try out before buying multiple sets for my students. I was not real impressed. The container is a little difficult to open and the magnets are not very strong. The size is great, but I think I will look elsewhere to get my magnets for my groups.

Pros
  • Educational Insights
Cons
  • The magnets are not very thick, making them less durable than other magnetic alphabet sets

Great product! on my review.

Great product! I use it with my 6 year old to practice spelling words and sight words! I love how the consonant and vowels are in different 2 different colors. it is a helpful visual for a beginning reader.

Pros
  • Color-coded design helps with color recognition and identification
Cons
  • The color-coding system can be confusing for children who are not used to it

Great for letter recognition, phonics, spelling

This set includes only one of some letters, which means you will want to purchase multiple sets if you will be spelling multiple words. Some letters only have one magnet and they are not very strong due to this. The "c” turns down on the magnet board. The only way to remedy this is to sandwich it between two other letters. The "c” design needs to be changed to include two magnets.

Pros
  • Helps to build fine motor skills
Cons
  • The colors of the letters may not be consistent throughout the set, making it less aesthetically pleasing

Colorful letters good for me

I love these magnetic letters that are lowercase to use to make words in my VIPKID classroom. I like the way the consonants are all the same color and the vowels are a different color.

Pros
  • 7.2 x 6.4 x 1.5 inches
Cons
  • The set is not very engaging for older children who may already know how to spell and read

At first I almost went with the multi-colored letters, but the fact this pack had the vowels and consonants color coded is what really sold me! I really like how these letters came in a sturdy container with extra space. I was hoping for more than the 42 letters-but the price was great so I just purchased multiple packs. I was then able to combine multiple packages into one container.

Pros
  • Durable design ensures long-lasting use and enjoyment
Cons
  • The set may not be suitable for children with sensory issues, as the magnets can be loud and clunky when moved around

Magnetics not strong enough

Needed these for remote learning and they just didn't work well. Magnets are not strong enough and the letters would often slide or rotate when I was trying to use them. Save your money and don't buy

Pros
  • Helps children with letter recognition and spelling
Cons
  • The magnets can be difficult to remove from surfaces, which can damage the surface over time

Good product! best in my review

Same as advertised! I'm pleased with this set of lowercase letters. I really liked the color distinction between vowels and consonants and my kids likes it too. In Spanish we only have 5 Vowels, so I like the idea I have extra Vowels if some of them disappear!

Pros
  • Works good, only thing is it would have been nice if there wear more vowels included!
Cons
  • The set is relatively expensive compared to other magnetic alphabet sets

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Missing magnets for my opinion

As stated in other reviews, the magnets are tiny and not very strong. My set included a missing magnet for 2 letters with only one loose magnet in the case that I will try to hot glue back onto one of the letters and will have to find a magnet from somewhere else to glue onto the second letter that is missing its magnet. Disappointed that I have to go to all of this trouble for a product that should be ready to go.

Pros
  • Magnetic design allows for placement on surfaces such as fridges and whiteboards
Cons
  • The colors of the letters may fade over time with exposure to sunlight

Great set! best in my review

These AlphaMagnets are just what I needed. I received everything I was suppose to and they stick well. I like how the vowels are a different color. I also like the size of the letters. This is a good set for the price!

Pros
  • A great supplement to any school curriculum
Cons
  • The colors of the letters may not match the colors used in some educational materials

Great they are lower case for teaching children how to spell

I like that they are lower case letters. Great for kindergartners learning to spell. I disliked that the magnet isn't strong enough to stick to magnetic wall.

Pros
  • Bought them for my classroom. Holding up to daily use by first graders. Love the red vowels.
Cons
  • The magnetic surface of the letters can be easily scratched, rendering them unusable
