Serious disappointment

Phew, that was a big fail. I have a 7 year old who loves marble mazes and building supplies so she must have loved it but the whole set seems incredibly cheap and poorly designed. The drill (batteries not included) can't really be used as shown in the picture because you have to put it on a stable surface to connect the parts. And that's hard, even with adult help. All the parts felt very cheap and the screws were soft and didn't fit really well. It was often easier to twist something by handโ€ฆ

  • Top marks for support and durability from testers

Both fun and educational toy

My nephews aged 6 and under love watching marble racing videos so I figured they would love this DIY marble kit. Sure, the videos they're watching are carefully crafted courses and this set is small and simple, but they still had a lot of fun playing with it. entertainment for boys. I recommend having an adult show how to screw in the bolts and various parts of the track first so the kids have an idea of what needs to be done. There are several cards in the set giving you ideas for courses that

Great concept: training and further education

My almost 5 year old son is the perfect age for marble mazes and screwdriver toys. This is a great toy that combines those things. The screwdriver also works with other similar sets we have, so now we have multiple screwdrivers and all the kids can play at the same time. As others have said, drilling with the board standing isn't ideal, so it's best to leave it on your lap while you make adjustments, and then get it back on its feet. Suggested designs usually work well, and you can improvise as

Teaches problem solving, spatial interaction and creativity. Sizes below

This is an interesting toy from Educational Insights. Children have to build their own marble maze by attaching tracks of different lengths to a board with pins using a children's drill. Then they can test their creations with the marble. I saw something like this at the science museum and the kids love it. It's fun to watch the cause and effect relationships and how the ball moves across the lanes. Drilling is fun, too, because โ€“ well, power tools. It moves back and forth like a real drillโ€ฆ

Doesn't fit marble tracks yet

This set has a lot of potential but there are little things that don't impress it โ–บ Build quality and design Not the best plastic, a bit flimsy, especially the hook where you put all the pieces with board associate. The back of the board has some rough edges (but nothing that might hurt you) and the coasters don't hold the perforated board securely enough for little hands. The overlay is quite small and therefore limits your creativity when creating a maze. It comes with a few puzzle maps thatโ€ฆ
