Ultimate Music Experience with ELAC Discovery Music Server Review

If you're just getting started with digital music, there aren't many better solutions. Add a USB hard drive and connect it to your network and sound system - done. If, like me, you already have a mature Roon-based network audio system, this is a sleek, great-sounding endpoint that's easy to use. In fact, these are three separate endpoints—one digital S/PDIF and two analog—that can be used together or addressed separately. Good product, highly recommended.

I love this item. I love how you control it with Roon Essentials (although I worry if it becomes a very expensive paperweight when Roon goes out of business). The sound quality is fantastic and I love how Roon Essentials seamlessly integrates purchased digital music with my Tidal account. Update: Stupid of me. I figured that since there are two different digital outputs, I could use one for my amp and the other for my headphone amp. no There are two ports and one exit. I can use either port for my optical but not both. Installing two cables crashes the server. I bought a DAC/amp specifically to use the second port. So I have to manually navigate to the device, unplug one cable and plug in another. Let's go back to running Roon from my laptop. My Mac allows me to switch the audio

I have an ELAC Discovery Music Server and it SOUNDS GREAT. Everything works reliably and Roon and its interface are great for sorting and organizing your music library. BUT... Still, getting to this point is difficult. During the setup step that requires creating a Roon account, the installation process gets stuck.
