PCI 3.0 Express Expansion Card

I just wanted an expansion card to add another NVMe to my PC. The radiator was some kind of cherry, but I didn't realize it was a cased pine. I was initially very happy with the addition of a small screwdriver, but I quickly realized why it was included. To access the NVMe slot, you must remove the heatsink. and it took half an hour to loosen the screws. I destroyed the screwdriver that came with it and another one I had in stock. I don't know who screwed those damn things, but the two screws…

Pros
  • Fast Heat Dissipation
Cons
  • Contact Seller

So first the pros, and there are several: This thing is pretty easy to install and use. You pop the NVME into the slot and screw it in place with the included screw (which I appreciate it's included as it's easy to lose the small screws that come with your motherboard, or maybe not even there if you just got it -Built-Shelf) and if you don't have a heatsink, plug the card into an available PCIe slot. Ready to go. No drivers were needed. I also have a Linux dual boot and will update if there are

Pros
  • Wide Compatibility
Cons
  • Expensive

Good board, bad heatsink

This adapter consists of two main components: the board where you connect the SSD, the PCIe connector and the heatsink/housing. The board itself and the included hardware you use to mount the SSD to the board appear to be of good quality and work properly. If that were the entire product, I think it deserves about 4.5 stars. If you're just using this part and aren't worried about the heatsink/case then you should be fine, but if you want to you're probably better off with one of the cheaper…

So far so good, booting from ASUS Z97-AR

Just to give a little background, I built my computer in 2015, I'm using Intel i7-4790K From overclocked to 4.6GHz with Cooler Master Hyper Evo 212, ASUS Z97-AR mobile device, 32 GB G.Skill ARES DDR3-2400 MHz (11-13-13-31), 250 GB Samsung Evo 850 SSD and 2 GB EVGA Nvidia GeForce GTX 960 SSC. So my build isn't the newest, but it still holds its own in every department except the GPU. to a new building if I decide to do so in the next few years. The first upgrade was a 500GB Western Digital SN750

Pros
  • Easy install
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model
