Good price but very thin cable.

I'm using this 16 foot speaker cable. It's a 22 gauge with a case. Real wire is thinner in my opinion. It works and the price is right. Because it's so thin, the threads fray easily and removing the case can be more difficult.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!

  • So far so good

Lots of flimsy cables

Pros: You get a lot of cables. If you can jump between points on a soldering board or be confident that your wire won't budge anywhere, this is very important. Cons: Weaker than other 22AWG wires I've worked with. This may be partly due to the case, which is quite thick and therefore rigid. If the wire moves near the stripped entry, it will break there. This is also because the sleeve is not very heat resistant and will melt leaving a short length of unsoldered wire. Between the solder (hard)…

Great product overall

I used this to install some LED strips under kitchen cabinets. I needed a wire to connect the sink and microwave and to tie all the lights together. I also cut out 6 inch segments and place a connector on each end to make my own light strip connectors. It worked very well! My only suggestion for improvement would be to make the inner wires a bit thicker so the inner wires don't come loose as easily when removing the outer jacket. A couple of times I accidentally pulled the inner wires out and…

This is 23 gauge aluminum wire

The wire is listed as "22 gauge tinned copper" but it is actually 23 gauge aluminum wire. When I received the wire I cut it and saw no copper at all. I examined it under a magnifying glass to see if it had a small or hard-to-see copper core, but I couldn't see it. So when visually inspected, it looks like aluminum (as opposed to "tinned copper" which is more expensive than regular copper). I measured the width of the wire with a micrometer and found it to be about 22.5 mils. is a 23-gauge wire,
